Ararat Cemetery is located just off the Pyrenees Highway, on the north-west outskirts of town. Notable features throughout the cemetery speak of the area's fascinating history as a significant gold mining town, including some Pioneer Headstones relocated from the original Ararat General Cemetery. There are also approx 300 Chinese burials to the left of the entrance gates, going back to the 1860s.
