Each year Ararat Rural City Council presents awards to local citizens and community groups that have made an outstanding contribution to the community. The awards not only recognise the contribution within the community but the ongoing commitment undertaken by all individuals for the benefit of the community.
It is an opportunity to honour individuals or groups who continued to make a difference to the Ararat Rural City community in the past year.
The 2024 Australia Day Awards will be presented at the annual Australia Day celebration on 26th January 2024 at Alexandra Oval Community Centre, Waratah Avenue, Ararat. More details on this event will be released closer to the date.
The four awards presented will be Citizen of the Year 2024, Community Project of the Year 2024, Young Citizen of the Year 2024, and Volunteer of the Year 2024. Please see the criteria for each category below.
