Apply Now: Council’s Community Grants Supporting Local Groups
Applications have opened for a further round of Ararat Rural City Council’s Community Support Grants Program.
Local organisations are invited to submit their applications for grants of up to $5,000 on a two-for-one basis across four distinct categories: sports/recreation and health/well-being, culture and arts, environment and sustainability, and events.
The program proudly provides funding to local sporting clubs and community groups and organisations. This grant funding supports community-led initiatives to increase engagement in sports and recreation, cultural events, arts accessibility, and sustainability initiatives.
Council recently awarded six organisations with grant funding totaling $17,780.
Recipients included Ararat & District Historical Society, to support the School’s Engagement Project, “Linking our Future and our Past”, Ararat Railway Heritage Association, to purchase a display showcase for the museum to house donated memorabilia, Elmhurst Fire Brigade, to purchase expandable temporary safety barriers for members to undertake training on the service road, and Pomonal Primary School to support the 2025 Pomonal Art Show.
Applications for Council’s Community Support Grants Program are open now until 30 April 2025 at 5:00 PM. Interested groups can apply online via Council's site, or obtain a hard copy applications form from Council’s municipal offices.
“Through our Community Support Grants Program, we’ve been able to help get some really great community led projects up and running,” says Ararat Rural City Council CEO, Dr Tim Harrison.
“We’re committed to investing in our local groups and organisations so that they can continue to promote engagement and build strong community connections through diverse opportunities.”
